Sneak peek teases The Block's first ever architect Steph and her partner Gian as they prepare to tackle Charming Street
The Block is making history this year, with the show's ever architect appearing as a contestant in 2023.
"As an architect, we're here to not give the conventional version of anything," shares Steph, confidently, in a sneak peek of the new season.

Strutting into a building site in a midriff fluro top, hard hat and work boots, it's clear Steph intends to deliver on that statement in more ways than one.

Steph is a fully-trained architect – the first to appear on the show.

In the newly released promo video, host Scotty Cam can be heard admonishing Steph, "Architects should know how to meet a brief," as judge Shaynna Blaze pulls a horrified facial expression and Neale Whitaker proclaims one of their rooms a "fail".
Later, it's revealed the pair are renovating the wrong room entirely.

"People expect you know what you're doing," Steph laments as her husband Gian frets, "Are we even going to finish?"
The two appear to be faced with a raft of issues, with a worryingly loud crash startling them at one point.
"Guys… what was that?" worries Steph.

The pair also reveal they have certainly got a unique style.
"It's 'Japandi'," Steph explains in the video.
