New trailer teases 'perfectionist' Brett will do whatever it takes to win with partner Kristy on The Block 2023
Delivering a room in a week is a huge ask – and the pressure and high energy it creates is exactly what we love about The Block.
So what happens when you add a highly–focused perfectionist into the equation? We're about to find out.
Meet Brett – taking on this year's Block alongside wife Kristy.

Brett has a very – very – keen eye for detail. He likes things done properly – and judging by the freshly released promo video above, he also likes things done his way.

Kristy reveals Brett initially didn't want her to even help with the painting, so he could get it 'perfect'. Nine
"Brett's thinking it is better to have him paint the ceiling, the skirting boards, all of the walls, the cupboards…." says Kristy, continuing to list every area of their home.
She adds he would rather go solo and make sure it's perfect, than let her help.

Kristy's not impressed when Brett concedes defeat and realises his ambitious approach actually did require teamwork.
Kristy is fine with painting, but she doesn't love being roused from her slumber at 2am to get started.
"It's turning out it's very unachievable, so I've woken her back up..." Brett admits, as an unimpressed Kristy squints her eyes.

In another moment, we see Brett whipping out a level to check the workmanship of a wall.
"This is done horribly," he sighs, shooting his patient wife an exasperated look.

It's perhaps not surprising to learn Brett is a Safety Officer – a job that requires excellent adherence to quality.
Kristy will also be focusing her sharp and savvy skills as a Project Manager when the driven Adelaide couple take on The Block this year.

The pair are part of this year's cast, tackling a renovation of a 1950s brick house on Charming Street, in Melbourne's Hampton East.

The Blockheads are also challenged with creating a granny flat, adding even more value to their properties.
And in a surprise twist, they are given the full schedule up front – allowing them to plan ahead.
We get the feeling this detail–oriented couple most definitely appreciated that update!
