'Hate it with a passion': Leah crumbles when she realises her kitchen doesn't cut it on The Block 2023

When the Blockheads designed their kitchens back in Week 2, they knew they were up for a mammoth task.

But a lot can change in five weeks, and now Leah and Ash are seriously second guessing their earlier designs.

"I hate it, and I mean hate it with a passion," Leah told cameras.

She was talking talking about her statement island bench, that was now coming to life. With five days until reveal, Leah was scrambling to change its size.

The problem wasn't the bench, however, rather their kitchen's size.

"I knew our floor plan was quite small," Leah confessed to cameras. In fact, they're working on the smallest kitchen this year.

"Designing something so many weeks ago, I wasn't feeling very good about it," she added.

Now, Leah was stressing the bench will be far too large.

Following the "dining disaster" Kyle and Leslie faced in Week 5, we know important it is for teams to get their scale right.

So, Leah called on Bryce from Kinsman to rethink their large curved design.

The plan? To reduce the size of their island to allow for more traffic space.

But with the stone already cut, was it too late to make a major change?

"You've got to make decisions on the width of this," Foreman Dan warned looking at the changes. "Because this is critical to the sale."

"I just want to get it right," a defeated Leah said.
