'Flabbergasted': Eliza gets a surprise from her family as she celebrates her birthday on The Block 2023

There's no greater gift than spending your birthday on The Block.

Luckily for Eliza, she didn't have to spend the day on the tools but rather at a Surfing Challenge Day.

And when she returned she was surprised by her parents and other sister who greeted her with a champagne shower.

"It was a lot, it was overwhelming, it was shocking," Eliza told cameras.

"It's not something my family do, shake up expensive bottles of Champagne and throw them on you but it was a nice birthday treat."

Naturally, Eliza and Liberty gave their family a tour of The Block.

"They were pretty flabbergasted at what we've achieved," Liberty said.

The tour of course included a stop at their infamous moss wall and just like everyone else, mum and dad had an opinion on it too.

Mum "loved it" calling it "stunning and innovative" while dad wasn't entirely sold.

Eliza and Liberty's parents also weren't originally sold on the girls appearing on The Block in the first place.

In a flashback clip from months ago, the girls tell their parents they're going on The Block.

"What would happen if you got on there and you had no f--king idea about anything," their mum worried.

"So you're not supportive then?" Eliza asked.

Their father responded with a very firm, "Nup!"

"I'm worried about you embarrassing yourselves because I don't think you understand fully the intensity and the stress of it," he said at the time.

But they're all able to see the funny side of it now.

"We're reassured having been here today and seen it all today," they said.
