Josh and Luke seek revenge on Ronnie after beach volleyball stitch-up

Twins Josh and Luke don't like to lose. After being well and truly stitched up — and smashed — in a beach volleyball challenge by Ronnie, they were ready for revenge.

This time, the competition would be a family-on-family soccer penalty shootout — only it would also feature Australian goal scorer Archie Thompson as the twins' newfound triplet.

What followed next was truly hilarious.

Sagely noting the boys hadn't taken the initial loss well, Ronnie was immediately wary when the duo suggested a re-match in the form of a family-on-family soccer penalty shootout.

Ronnie, who has his son Giordano in town, cautiously agreed.

"Giordano plays soccer," he agreed, noting, "I've never played soccer before in my life but I'm quite happy to give that a crack, mate."

Ronnie was wise to be suspicious. The Block has a long history of prank wars — and this was one where the boys were determined to emerge victorious.

"We think it's time to get him back," Josh vowed, keenly aware they also still owed Ronnie two hours of labour.

The deal was struck — the winner of the shootout would score a one-hour clean-up, courtesy of the losing team.

What Ronnie didn't realise was that the twins have a third brother — a triplet. Non-identical, with a different surname and skillset. (Note: He also didn't appear on Love Island.)

This was the first anyone had heard of their family member, but not the first we've heard of Archie Thompson. Ex-Socceroo player, Australia's second highest goal scorer and most definitely not a triplet, it suddenly came as no surprise that the boys had suggested a soccer penalty shootout.

Unless Giordano happened to be Australia's first highest goal scorer, it seemed highly probable that revenge was about to be served.

Confirming Luke was indeed Luke and not Josh, an unusual move for a triplet, the highly suss team even managed to produce a "birth certificate" as proof. It managed to convince Foreman Dan, which is really inspiration for all teams come defect inspection time.

"This is family!" Archie said unconvincingly, as Ronnie dubbed him, "A brother from another mother."

At this point, it should be noted that Ronnie chose to wear an outfit just as dubious as Luke's jeans had been for the beach volleyball match — a dress shirt and shorts, ready for action.

Aware they had to win by two points, "Ronn Dog" arrived with his cheer squad in the form of a very passionate Georgia.

It wasn't long before just about every tradie on site joined her. The entertainment and passion was too strong to resist... and a lot more fun than the hardcore work going on during Backyard Week.

Heckling from the sidelines, Georgia was baffled when Archie asked, "Who's this?"

"It's Georgia from The Block, mate!" she protested. "You're on my court… Bronte Court!"

But the smack talk wrapped up fast when Archie fired a blistering shot squarely at Ronnie's head. "Almost knocked me out," Ronnie affirmed. "Secretly, that kind of revved me up."

With 150 tradies cheering them on, Archie's warm-up was over. Fuelled by the commotion, the freshly born triplet served up a deciding victory.

"It was great to watch Archie just smashing Ronnie around," Luke said merrily.

"Watching Archie just shatter his dreams there was great," he finished, gracious in both defeat and victory.
