How going on The Block 2020 affected the teams' relationships

The Block is a show where people compete in teams of two.

But while they all start off very close with each other, over the many weeks of filming stresses mount and tensions flare.

Speaking to this year's Blockheads, 9Entertainment found out exactly how they feel about each other now that renovations are done.

The Block is a huge relationship test and the teams have revealed what things are like now.  Nine

Harry and Tash, the first father-daughter team in Block history, needed some space after renovations concluded.

"We needed a month break from each other after the show finished," Tash joked.

Married couple Sarah and George revealed it's been a crazy year for them.

"But it made us grow, and I think that's a real positive," Sarah said. "We still love each other and you learn a lot about yourself and your partner."

For Daniel and Jade, who have three children together, the experience brought them closer together.

"Daniel and I have grown as individuals and together and it's only made us stronger," Jade said.

She added that they're "still smiling" and "still married".

Perth parents Luke and Jasmin had plenty of fiery clashes and 'divorce' was a word thrown around a lot in House 4, but the couple said it's just their sense of humour.

"It's the Italian in me," Luke said. "It's the fieriness. Jasmin's got a bit of Russian in her so it's a match made in hell."

The Block 2020 teams open up about how they are feeling ahead of auction.

For Jimmy and Tam the experience actually made them stronger.  Nine

Jimmy and Tam in House 5, who are also parents to a young girl, said going on The Block gave each other an insight into other's life, which brought them closer.

"It definitely made us stronger," Jimmy said. "What we did here is pretty similar to my job, so running job sites.

"Tam's never seen me do that and I've never seen her style. So seeing ourselves succeed in both of those fields was absolutely eye opening for both of us."

"It was a very stressful situation," Tam added. "This was just something that made our marriage even stronger than we could ever imagine."
