Tracey Jewel opens up about 'unexpected' birth experience with baby boy Frankie

Tracey Jewel welcomed a baby boy named Frankie Robert Constable on March 18. It's the former Married At First Sight bride's second child but her first with her husband, Nathan Constable.

Little Frankie didn't have the smoothest entry into the world, which Tracey detailed in an Instagram post over the weekend.

"My birth experience with Frankie wasn't what I expected. I was prepared for our baby boy to come early as my daughter Grace was 4 weeks early and was a natural birth," she wrote.

"This time around I felt more prepared, I had my acupressure points, my @bubbaready hospital essentials, my self hypnosis, my @bestbirthco affirmations, my @doterraaunz oils I even had my @thegypsycollectionau crystals!"

But as many can attest, even the most prepared mothers can be surprised by how their baby arrives.

"I did no prep or research into C sections at all!" Tracey admitted.

"So after a very long week of a irritable uterus (that's contractions around the clock) and a labour that went for 26 hours before my emergency C I was emotionally and physically exhausted. For our little boy to then go straight to ICU without a cuddle for almost 5 days was unbearable."

Tracey was able to keep herself occupied at hospital with a few things.

"To distract myself I worked in hospital, watched #mafs and way too many old sitcoms and my hubby is the most amazing support I could ever ask for..." she continued.

Tracey and baby Frankie are back home and even she's said she's been too hard on herself in the first few weeks.

"Now we are home I'm placing way too much pressure on myself trying to breastfeed after his first week not being able to, expressing every 3 hours and in constant nesting and pacing mode," she revealed. "And I'm supposed to be the self care expert here!"

The solution? "So I'm going back to basics. Prioritising sleep, booking in weekly massages, limiting phone and work time and staying present with my family in our love bubble," she wrote. "The chores and emails can wait."

It's been a big year for Tracey. The Season 6 bride reunited with some of her fellow participants at the Married At First Sight Grand Reunion event a few months ago.

Then she and Nathan — who happens to be her high school sweetheart — tied the knot in a surprise wedding. Their friends thought they were hosting a baby shower.

Tracey also has an 11-year-old daughter named Grace.
