EXCLUSIVE: MAFS' Veronica admits watching last night's explosive disagreement with husband Eliot was "confronting".

Veronica and Eliot argued after he shared his confession letter opening up about "one of [his] most deep and harrowing memories" of his younger sister falling into a coma when he was nine years old.

Eliot had made an effort to be more vulnerable but he didn't exactly get the reaction he was hoping for, as Veronica didn't think the confession taught her anything about him.

Speaking to 9Entertainment, Veronica shared that watching it back, she thought her approach may have been "too forward".

"Sometimes when someone's talking to you in a type of way you just mirror their behaviour, because you run out of tools in your toolbelt to deal with that type of discourse. And for me, that's kind of just what I did," she explained.

She also clarified that she felt a lot of empathy for Eliot and his family.

"It's not easy as a family to find out that your sibling or daughter has a chronic illness, and I did relate, because I have endometriosis and it's been a big issue for me since I was 13. I felt for him in that way and I felt for his sister as well," she shared.

She said her frustration stemmed from asking Eliot follow-up questions about that time in his life and his family relationships now, but not getting any answers.

The Confession Letter task ended in disaster for the pair. Nine

"I asked questions about his mum, about his family, about his sister. 'What's your relationship with your sister? How old is she? Are you close? Does it affect you guys now?' and I got nothing back. It was very challenging to me," she explained.

"All of them were met with, 'I've given you all of the available information in the letter'. I didn't really gain any further insight, despite my attempts to understand the situation a bit better."

Veronica revealed she also did the Confession Letter task, and while she did not want to share the details she said she'd hoped Eliot's letter would match her vulnerability.

"My letter was quite revealing and I felt very exposed after sharing it. On the back of that, not really engaging in discourse of any kind, not being able to further it... it was quite challenging," she concluded.
