MAFS bride Carina reveals co-star she no longer speaks to after 'volatile, nasty' behaviour
"I'm not good at division."
Carina isn't talking about maths here. She's talking about MAFS – and in particular the fraught situation she found herself in during Retreat week, which came to an explosive head at the most recent Dinner Party.

On The Official Married At First Sight Podcast, Carina got the chance to unpack the situation from her point of view, and explain how an effort to bridge a divide between Lauren and Jamie quickly saw her caught in the middle, starting at girls night.
"I just saw that the environment was becoming a little bit like high school days, mean girl vibes," she explained to host of the podcast Shelly Horton.
"And if one girl walks out of any situation, I'm going to go up and make sure she's OK. That's just the nature that I am."

The problem was, Jamie saw things differently and felt betrayed that Carina hadn't stood by her more strongly. But Carina had her own reasons.
"Jamie's a very strong-minded woman... I thought she could fight her battles herself," she said.

But Carina now recognises that her approach may not have been the best.
"Did she probably want me to support her more? Yes, probably" she said. "And I was like, 'I'm the peacemaker in this situation'... But yeah, I think Jamie didn't take it that way… And looking back, I understand that."

As for Lauren, Carina admits she might have handled things differently if she had also known more about her character at the time.
"Honestly, I probably would have taken my approach of comforting Lauren in another way... Perhaps maybe not have run out after Lauren. I would have been like, 'Lauren, come on, be a little bit stronger. Let's sort this out with all the girls.'"
Despite stepping up to the role of peacemaker, which led her to Lauren's corner, Carina made it clear that she is in no way a fan of Lauren's words and behaviour:
"I have not spoken to [Lauren] since we finished filming. I got along with her [but] do I condone the words that she said? Absolutely not. Volatile, nasty words. And I don't stand by it."
