Exclusive: Shannon claims he's been 'too nice' in past relationships and reveals his 'biggest insecurity' in his MAFS 2023 audition tape
Shannon's marriage to Caitlin on Married At First Sight took a tumultuous turn this week, after he ruthlessly commented on her appearance during the Photo Ranking challenge.
Things got worse for the pair when the 30-year-old personal trainer was caught making a phone call to his ex, and confessed to his wife that he was still in love with her.

In his exclusive MAFS audition tape, Shannon himself admitted he hadn't had much luck with relationships in the past, and said he felt he'd be "too nice" to his partners.

"Apparently, I don't see it, but they say that I can be selfish," he confessed. "Really when you start saying that, it's usually a projection of the other person as well.
"I don't really know myself personally in a relationship because... I'm too nice. I've been too nice, I'm a good-hearted person."
He then went on to speak about his past relationships.
"You tell any of my exes, they'll be like, 'Oh, you're a tight a--. Oh you're this, oh you're that.' But there's compromises to that," he explained.

"Why was I being an a--hole? Why was I being a d--k? Obviously you were projecting something that was triggering my... some sort of insecurity in a way."
Shannon also described his biggest insecurity, adding: "...feeling that I have to be perfect to be loved."

He went on to say that he'd had difficulty meeting women organically in the past.
"These days you can't even go on a street and approach a woman, because you go up and they'll be like, 'Who the hell do you think you are coming up to approach me? You can at least talk to me on Tinder first.' What the f---?" he lamented.

"I'm in front of you face-to-face right now, but you want to meet me on a social media platform first?"

When asked what he was looking for a partner, he joked: "I want her fit, I want her with lots of money so I can be a stay-at-home dad... imagine that!"
