Sarah is the creative mastermind, constantly coming up with imaginative concepts, while Emily is the colourist with an expert eye for selecting the perfect colours and ensuring every detail is in harmony.

Rise of the Kraken | Episode 5
In Episode 5, the challenge was all about 'What Lurks Beneath'.
Teams were provided with an empty fish tank and a baseplate that sat on top, and tasked with building a scene to go both above and below the water.
Each duo was assigned an historic era to depict by selecting one of nine different minifigures: Aztec, Spartan, Pirate, Roman, Samurai, Egyptian, Viking, Knight, and Cowboy. Their build needed to match the era on top, with an otherworldly threat in the tank below.
The Kiwis were assignment 'pirates', which of course has a very obvious water link already! Could they use that to their advantage?

They decided on a classic scene depicting a Kraken sea monster attacking a pirate ship, while the pirates are being saved by mermaids.
They were confident on the storytelling, leaving them to worry about bringing it to life (and making it stay put underwater!)

Unfortunately, Brickman quickly noticed an issue with their build as he pointed out that their Kraken legs did not show off a great deal of skill.
To combat this, Emily and Sarah attempted to hide any large gaps in the tentacles with white bricks to look like suckers - but Brickman still saw room for improvement.
For example, he suggested they could have changed the colour of the tentacles as they went out of the water for a bit more polish.

On the bright side, he thought their storytelling was very clear.
"You definitely get a big tick in that box and likewise the pirate component. Aesthetically, you can make out exactly what's going on," he said.

Emily and Sarah did not want to get off "this amazing ride" just yet, but unfortunately, Brickman named them as the second team eliminated from the competition.
"Our families made a lot of sacrifices for us so we want to thank them for putting up with us and all our LEGO bricks," an emotional Sarah said.
Deep Fryer Spoons | Episode 4
Episode 4 brought back a LEGO Masters classic: the replica challenge.
Teams had to use LEGO to meticulously recreate a prop they selected from a regional Chinese restaurant set in the studio.
Not only did they have to try and replicate their item as best they could, but they also had to try and fool special guest Sophie Monk.
Sophie was given 60 seconds to try identify all 10 builds in the scene. If she failed to point out a build, the team earned three bonus points.
The Kiwis made a wild choice with these deep fryer spoons, which made for a very challenging build.

Creating realistic wood with LEGO is notoriously hard.
That coupled with the netting of the spoons made this Emily and Sarah's most difficult build so far.

Brickman praised their risk taking, saying he would never dare to pick the same item to replicate!

Even so, he thought they did a great job.
"Those nets are pretty crazy. We've got a lot of Nice Parts Usage in this, haven't we?"
There is very little LEGO options in their chosen gold colour, so Emily and Sarah got very creative with parts like handcuffs and minifigure hands to create the nets.
