TV duo's devastation as single mistake leads to brutal loss: 'Our families made a lot of sacrifices for us'
There were tears all round as Kiwis Emily and Sarah became the second team eliminated from LEGO® Masters: Grand Masters of the Galaxy.
Judge Ryan 'Brickman' McNaught was choked up as he delivered the devastating verdict at the end of the What Lurks Beneath challenge.

The devastated New Zealand team were just as emotional, thanking their families for supporting their LEGO dreams.
"Our families made a lot of sacrifices for us so we want to thank them for putting up with us and all our LEGO bricks," an emotional Sarah said through tears.

The friends from across the ditch had admitted to perhaps biting off more than they could chew with the Episode 5 challenge, which required teams to build two scenes above and below the water of a fish tank.

While their scene of a pirate ship being attacked by the Kraken told a clear story, the technicality of the build – especially the monster's tentacles – lacked "polish", according to the judge.
"Technically you really struggled to hit your straps today and add that polish. The character being the key component, that's where you really struggled," he critiqued.

The elimination came down to Team New Zealand or Team Canada, with the Canadian's making it through the bottom two successfully for the second build in a row.
"It gives me absolutely no pleasure whatsoever to send some great builders home..." Brickman said, getting upset.
"I'm sorry New Zealand to lose you."

On the way out, Emily and Sarah said they were proud of themselves and the chance to represent their country.
"What an absolute honour. We would've liked to have gone on longer but I'm just proud to have got this far," Sarah concluded.

This year welcomed 10 teams from across the globe, who each earned their chance to win the coveted Grand Masters title – and a life-changing $100,000 in prize money.
After the first three challenges, all builds from here on out are elimination rounds as the competition heats up to see who will be deemed the best builders in the galaxy.
LEGO Masters: Grand Masters of the Galaxy airs at 7:00pm Sunday and continues Mondays and Tuesdays at 7:30pm.
