Fiji
Catriona Rowntree loved Fiji for the same reasons as everyone else – majestic palm trees, mud pools and sandy beaches.
The best thing about Fiji is that there is great weather all year round with the temperature barely dropping below 20 degrees even during the colder months.
That means travellers can take advantage of non-peak seasons and visit during cheaper months like March, August, October and November.
The average night per spend is $150.

The average flight time to Fiji from Australia's eastern cities is around four hours with many direct flights available.
On Catriona's trip to Fiji she snorkeled with sharks, relaxed at the most stunning resorts and immersed herself in the culture.

During her Fijian getaway, Catriona indulged in thermal mud pools and village life.
Catriona decided to venture a little further than the popular resort areas and she headed for the hills, an hour or so from the port of Denarau.
It might look messy but Catriona told audiences the thermal mud pools were great to soothe the bones and cleanse the skin.
Vietnam
From transportation to dining, Vietnam is one of the cheapest countries in the world to visit.
The popular tourist destination is about a nine hour flight from Australia and the average nightly spend is $40.
Non-peak travel periods are March, April, August and September.

Some of the Vietnam standouts for Charlie were the vibrant Ho Chi Minh city as well as the famous Cu Chi tunnels.
Charlie squeezed into one part of a much larger network of tunnels that were of great importance to the Viet-Cong soldiers; today they are open as a tourist attraction.
Malaysia
With astonishing ancient archeological landmarks, great hiking and modern cities it's no surprise that Malaysia has made the list.
The Malaysian capital is one of Asia's most popular cities with all the trappings of a big city but on a friendlier scale – bonus it's also one of the cheapest to travel to.
Kuala Lumpur is approximately eight hours by plane and has an average nightly spend of $55.
June, July, August and October are your best months to strike cheaper deals.

One of the standouts of Getaway host David Reyne's Malaysia trip was a visit to the island of Borneo in Kota Kinabalu.
Although it's known as a gateway to nearby tropical islands, Kota Kinabalu is a destination on its own!
Renowned for its natural wonders and population of orangutans, the seaside city is also home to fascinating historical and tribal artefacts as well as the famous Mari Mari Cultural Village.
Thailand
Thailand has got it all from unique temples, rooftop bars and picturesque beaches.
With an balmy climate all year round there's no bad time to head over! Although July to September will see you score lower rates for flights and accommodation.
