Darren and Petula's Blessing Ceremony

Throughout The Retreat, Darren has been quite a character.

Upon reflection Darren thinks he has said and done some things he wishes his potential step-son Drhys hadn't have seen.

But when it comes to the Blessing Ceremony it's not Darren's larrikin antics that has Drhys worried.

"The distance is a worry, we do live so far away," Drhys says.

And Tess agrees that it would be difficult for her dad – who lives in Queensland – to maintain a relationship with Petula – who lives in Western Australia.

But Darren is adamant that despite the distance "the connection won't go away".

Not to mention that Petula already had a coastal move planned before she met Darren.

And on that note both Tess and Drhys give their parents their blessing.

"The connection that you guys have developed over these past weeks has been incredible to watch," Tess says.

There's no denying that Carole is into Roe, but Priscilla isn't sure that the feelings her mum has are being reciprocated.

When the four sit down, it's clear that Priscilla and Sachem are on the same page.

"The attraction felt physical and I wanted to see more," Sachem says.

And while Carole sees where they're coming from she says "you can't push someone" into being ready to open up.

"With time, I think your dad will break a few more walls," Carole says to Sachem.

But despite Carole's willingness, Priscilla "only wants the best" for her mum and decides not to give her blessing.

Even Michelle's daughter Chloe has Heath front of mind in the decision making.

"I'm a little bit worried that Heath may get hurt in this situation just because he is diving in pretty quick and pretty heavy," Chloe admits.

Haydn wastes no time in trying to find out if Michelle "is ready to receive the love that his dad is willing to give".

"What are your intentions for my father?" Haydn asks the second they sit down.

"I would like to purse it and see what happens," Michelle reassures Haydn.

And while it's an answer Haydn is happy to hear he is still concerned about the letters he and Chloe received from their parents.

In Heath's letter he called Michelle "the love of his life" while Michelle didn't mention Heath in her letter.

But Michelle explains that she just wants to take "baby steps".

"It could heavily impact the rest of our lives".
