Carlos Alcaraz traditionally has a tattoo for every grand slam he's won.

Jim Courier confirmed on Nine's coverage he'll be getting a kangaroo on his leg.

Alcaraz confirmed that will be the case in his press conference.

Carlos Alcaraz was spotted speaking to Rafael Nadal after winning the Australian Open.

The new Australian Open champion spoke of his admiration for the legendary Spaniard on Nine's coverage.

"This moment is really special, having Rafa in the stands made it even more special," he said.

"Lifting the trophy for the first time in Australia in front of Rafa was crazy to be honest.

"After the semi final, I thought about his semi final in 2009 when he played against Fernando Verdasco, he came back physically and played such a great final against Federer and won.

"I was thinking a little about it ... not thinking about how I feel physically, it's just about pushing through and having him there ... it gave me a good mindset."

Carlos Alcaraz is on Court 9 and says "this is a dream come true".

He admits Djokovic "surprised me a little bit" with how fast he was at the start.

"I didn't know what I had to do at the beginning, but in tennis one point can change everything," he said.

"At the beginning of the second set he made a few mistakes and I was more comfortable and calmer against him and changed some of my tactics."

Carlos Alcaraz has been filmed for most of his walk and now he's very close to Court 9.
