Wallabies vs Lions RECAP: Hugo Keenan breaks Aussie hearts to win series after 'terrible decision' by officials

That wraps up our live coverage from the MCG as the Lions took an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three Test series.

It was a gripping game, sealed in the most controversial circumstances as Hugo Keenan went over for the match-winning try.

The officials had a good look at Jac Morgan's cleanout on Carlo Tizzano and the try stood.

The Wallabies have been dealt a heartbreaking blow after a controversial try in the final minute sealed the series for the British and Irish Lions.

Hugo Keenan was the man who scored right before full time, sealing a 29-26 win but the ruck in the lead up was under scrutiny.

Carlo Tizzano tried to pilfer the ball with Jac Morgan cleaning him out.

When the replays came through, Morgan Turinui said on Stan Sport: "it's an easy, simple call, you cannot hit a guy in the neck."

Lions captain Maro Itoje has been named man of the match.

"This is a very special arena. It's an honour and privilege for us to play here," Itoje tells Stan Sport.

"And I'm super proud of the team. Big Faz, Andy (Farrell), he told us that we should have no doubt in our mind that we're going to win this game. Let's continue to play big.

"Obviously there's loads of errors, loads of errors. But we played big. We got the win and that's all that matters."

Lions legend Martin Johnson says Jac Morgan's action wasn't worthy of a penalty and therefore the Lions are deserves winners.

Wallabies great Michael Hooper disagrees, saying it would have been a penalty if it was in the first minute.

Wallabies captain Harry Wilson has bitten his tongue when asked about his discussions with the officials after that controversial finish.

"Um, I'm probably not in the right emotion to speak about that," Wilson tells Stan Sport.

"So proud of this team. Written off. We came out here, we put our bodies on the line. The game was ours to the very end. And to lose like that..."

Game three is in Sydney next Saturday and Wilson says anyone that thinks there's nothing on the line there is "kidding themselves."

"We're going to be not short of motivation. The opportunity to play for Australia is truly special. And I hope everyone back home has seen what sort of team we are and we're going to keep fighting. We're going to keep improving. It's really special to play here in front of 90,000 people. The Lions fans, the Wallabies fans. It's been truly special to be a part of this series."

The Wallabies led by 18 points at one stage.

Late drama as Stan Sport's Morgan Turinui believes they have got the call wrong.

"You cannot hit a guy in the neck," Turinui says.

"The referees have got it wrong, it has cost the Wallabies. It is a terrible decision that decides this match."

Italian referee Andrea Piardi begs to differ, saying it was a dynamic ruck and there was no foul play.

The Lions are jubilant, the Wallabies are heartbroken.

It appears Hugo Keenan has broken Australian hearts with a last-gasp try.

But the TMO is taking a look at a dangerous cleanout from Jac Morgan on Carlo Tizzano.

The Wallabies are hanging on - just - as Ellis Genge knocks on on Australia's 22.

They lead 26-24 after 77 minutes.

They must win to keep this series alive.
