Big-money guns on the market
November 1 has arrived and that means a swath of NRL players are officially on the open market.
The market has been rocked in recent weeks with the Dragons releasing Ben Hunt and the Eels telling Clint Gutherson he can leave, then the Bulldogs sacking Josh Addo-Carr.
Here is every club's off-contract list and where things stand.
Brisbane Broncos
Top priority: Reece Walsh is off the market after inking a four-year deal on the eve of November 1. From there, the club needs to figure out what Adam Reynolds' future looks like as well as re-signing hooker Blake Mozer.
Likely to leave: It's going to be tough for Brisbane to keep both Kotoni Staggs and Selwyn Cobbo beyond 2025, so expect to see one of the star backs depart. The latter has been linked to the Cowboys already.
Full off-contract list: Adam Reynolds, Blake Mozer, Corey Jensen, Cory Paix, Fletcher Baker, Jack Gosiewski, Jaiyden Hunt, Kobe Hetherington, Kotoni Staggs, Selwyn Cobbo, Tyson Smoothy
Canberra Raiders
Top priority: Jamal Fogarty has an option in his contract in the club's favour which they will likely enact, while young gun Albert Hopoate could be extended.Xavier Savage may be in need of an upgrade and extension.
Likely to leave: Front-rower Emre Guler played just 11 games this year and will likely attract interest from rival clubs.
Full off-contract list: Albert Hopoate, Corey Harawira-Naera (PO), Danny Levi, Emre Guler, Jamal Fogarty (CO), Simi Sasagi, Tom Starling, Vena Patuki-Case
Toby Sexton
Top priority: Bronson Xerri had a strong return to the NRL after a four-year suspension and has earned a fresh deal with the Bulldogs. Toby Sexton could be kept around while teenage playmaker Mitch Woods continues to develop.
Likely to leave: Josh Addo-Carr was sacked on Thursday on the eve of November 1, so the Dogs are on the lookout for a winger, presumably, and have money to play with. Blake Taaffe has been surpassed in the fullback role and could also move on.
Full off-contract list: Blake Taaffe, Daniel Suluka-Fifita, Drew Hutchison, Jaeman Salmon, Jake Turpin, Kitione Kautaga, Kurt Mann, Kurtis Morrin, Ryan Sutton, Toby Sexton
Cronulla Sharks
Top priority: Star winger Ronaldo Mulitalo is consistently among the Sharks' best performers and remains a crucial re-signing for the club.
Likely to leave: After the club managed to hold onto Braydon Trindall, Daniel Atkinson has signed with the Dragons and young gun Kade Dykes could be on the move, while Will Kennedy is also fighting for his future as the club weighs up a change.
Full off-contract list: Kade Dykes, Ronaldo Mulitalo, Sam Stonestreet, Will Kennedy
Dolphins
Top priority: Young winger Jack Bostock enjoyed a tremendous rookie season, while back-rower Connelly Lemuelu still has plenty of good footy in his future.
Likely to leave: Felise Kaufusi, Kenny Bromwich and Mark Nicholls are all coming towards the end of their careers and could be squeezed out by the Dolphins.
Full off-contract list: Connelly Lemuelu, Felise Kaufusi, Harrison Graham, Jack Bostock, Josh Kerr, Kenny Bromwich, Mark Nicholls, Sean O'Sullivan
Gold Coast Titans
Top priority: Jojo Fifita is a proven try scorer and has plenty of upside, while the future of veteran halfback Kieran Foran beyond 2025 remains unclear.
Likely to leave: Ken Maumalo hasn't played a single NRL game since arriving at the Titans, while utility Tanah Boyd appears unlikely to remain there long-term.
Full off-contract list: Harley Smith-Shields, Iszac Fa'asuamaleaui, Jojo Fifita, Josiah Pahulu, Ken Maumalo, Kieran Foran, Ryan Foran, Tanah Boyd, Tony Francis
Manly Sea Eagles
Top priority: If skipper and halfback Daly Cherry-Evans decides he wants to prolong his career, it's a no-brainer decision for Manly to extend him. Tommy Talau will also be looking for an upgrade after a strong first season at the club in 2024.
Likely to leave: The chances of both Toafofoa Sipley and Josh Aloiai staying put could be unlikely, while Aaron Schoupp is another player who could move on.
Full off-contract list: Aaron Schoupp, Ben Condon, Clayton Faulalo, Daly Cherry-Evans, Ethan Bullemor, Gordon Chan Kum Tong, Jake Arthur, Josh Aloiai, Toafofoa Sipley, Tommy Talau
Melbourne Storm
Top priority: Young playmaker Jonah Pezet remains the most important player in need of a fresh deal.
Likely to leave: Christian Welch and Tui Kamikamica could be squeezed out with more front-rowers at the club.
Full off-contract list: Bronson Garlick, Christian Welch (MO), Grant Anderson, Jonah Pezet, Josh King, Tui Kamikamica
Newcastle Knights
Top priority: Rookie back-rower Kai Pearce-Paul will also need a new deal, as well fellow English import Will Pryce.
