'Just awful': Warriors halfback Tanah Boyd's season likely over after devastating injury blow
In-form Warriors halfback Tanah Boyd suffered a suspected ACL rupture on Sunday afternoon in a massive blow to the New Zealand outfit's premiership hopes.
In the seventh minute of the Magic Round clash with Brisbane, won by the Warriors 42-12, Boyd scooted onto a pass at first receiver and pulled up abruptly, limping away in agony.
The game was bitter-sweet for Warriors coach Andrew Webster.

Tanah Boyd limps off with a serious knee injury. Nine
"He's definitely gonna go for scans. It's a potential ACL. It's not confirmed yet. Scans will do that for us, so we're not writing him off yet, but early indications say that it could be," Webster said.
"We've had a great win here tonight and got one of our own in there that doesn't have clarity on his future. He doesn't have clarity in the next 12 months.
"So we're really behind him and feel for him right now, but fingers crossed. Hopefully it's good news.
"But yeah, it's hard to get too excited when that happens."
Boyd, who's off contract at season's end, has been putting together a career-best campaign.
"He's very strong," Webster said.
"Typical Tanah – he was thinking of the team before. He's in there with the boys congratulating them.
"But you can see that he's emotional, [and he's] upset."
If Boyd has ruptured his ACL, his season is over and he will likely miss the start of the 2027 campaign.
"That's just awful," Nine commentator Mat Thompson said.

The injury comes less than a week after the Warriors gave halfback Luke Metcalf an early release so he could sign with the Dragons on a three-year deal from 2027.
Metcalf, eerily, suffered an ACL rupture at Suncorp Stadium last season.
