Good night!
Thanks for tuning into Wide World of Sports' LIVE coverage of Friday's NRL action.
A win for the Knights and a win for the Rabbitohs.
We'll be back to cover more of the action this weekend.
Full wrap up
Well South Sydney have started the year with a win.
And the Dolphins will go home knowing some missed conversions probably proved costly.
Battle of Bennett goes to the Bunnies
The Rabbitohs hold on 16-14!
"It was a real arm wrestle," Andrew Johns said on Nine.
Definitely won't go down as game of the year but the Rabbitohs take the two points nonetheless.
Wayne Bennett has a win first game back for the Bunnies!
NO TRY
The Bunker's involved here!
South Sydney looked like they'd put the result beyond doubt, but the referee sent it up as no try.
Upon inspection it looked like Jack Wighton may have stripped the ball instead of the Dolphins knocking on in the lead up.
And that's how the Bunker ruled it.
Rabbitohs regain the lead!
South Sydney are back in front!
They came into attacking territory and it was the main men getting their hands on the ball.
Fullback Jye Gray threw a cut-out pass to Jack Wighton who shifted it on to his winger Isaiah Tass.
Tass then went over in the corner.
Wighton facing sanction
Jack Wighton has been placed on report for a raised forearm.
Could be a bit lighter in the hip pocket after that?
Plenty happening
A bit of push and shove here leads to a missed penalty kick!
Lachlan Hubner and Herbie Farnworth came together with the Dolphins penalised.
However, the Rabbitohs couldn't convert. And then they gave away a penalty.
"That's a big miss," Andrew Johns said on Nine.
Bit going on there
The ball was going everywhere in that set.
The Dolphins looked like they had a try for all money with a set play but Isaiya Katoa threw it straight into the head of a Rabbitohs player.
Herbie Farnworth retrieved the ball though.
The next play Katoa was all over them again and put Max Plath over to score ... finally.
"He is such a good player," Andrew Johns said of Katoa on Nine.
The Dolphins now lead 14-12 after the conversion.
Dolphins' post-match plans
The Dolphins were stuck in a battle against the unknown ahead of round one due to Cyclone Alfred and won't be able to head home straight away after their clash against the Rabbitohs.
The NRL confirmed on Friday evening that a charter flight had been secured for the club amid concerns the team could likely be stuck in Sydney for an extended period following the match.
Unlike the Broncos, the Dolphins will not receive a police escort to Sydney Airport with the NRL organising for the team to stay in Sydney for the night.
Dolphins score first after the break
The Dolphins have finally scored in the second half.
They'd been pressing the line and it's taken some time but they're in.
Isaiya Katoa squared up Cody Walker and passed to Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow.
The Hammer threw a beautiful cut-out pass and Jamayne Isaako scored.
Dolphins trail 12-8 after a shocker kick from Isaako.
