FULLTIME: Titans def the Knights 26-6

Alyssa Bone

What an effort by the Gold Coast Titans.

The home side has claimed a 26-6 victory over the Newcastle Knights.

It was an error-riddled night for Adam O'Brien's men, with the club finishing with eight conceded penalties and 17 errors.

"That is not the sort of performance you want going into a bye," Greg Alexander said on Fox League.

Newcastle are on the board

Alyssa Bone

It's finally happened.

Newcastle are on the board!

It was not the easiest of tries but it was a beautiful attacking effort by the visitors.

Bradman Best was the man to get the job done for his team, jumping on a perfect offload from Kalyn Ponga to dive over the line.

"That needed to happen 15 minutes ago," Greg Alexander said on Fox League.

"Best is a powerhouse."

'The blue healer'

David Fifita is 'the blue healer'.

A dropped ball by Greg Marzhew was all Fifita needed to find the line.

"That is just not good enough," Greg Alexander said on Fox League.

"(O'Brien) is about to explode... the errors in this half, the execution, it's all been poor."

Fermor denied

Alyssa Bone

It has not been a good match for the Knights.

Beau Fermor has joined the list of try scorers for round three and charged over two defenders to score.

"Somehow Fermor has gone over," Greg Alexander said on Fox League.

"Wait, hang on..."

A replay of the incident appeared to show Fermor had fumbled the ball before planting it down in goal.

The footage left Alexander unsure if the points would be awarded but the Bunker confirmed the four points for the Titans.

Jayden Campbell nailed the conversion.

Newcastle are trailing 20-0.

"They have to be perfect Newcastle... but they've burned some opportunities earlier in the game," Alexander added.

Campbell hit mid-air

Alyssa Bone

Adam Elliott has given the Titans their sixth penalty of the night.

Elliott caught Jayden Campbell mid-air as the young halfback booted the ball down the field on the last tackle.

The Knights lock did not seem to agree with the penalty call but he was quick to run back to his line.

Knights are messy

Alyssa Bone

Newcastle have fumbled yet another try-scoring opportunity.

Just metres out from the goal line, Kalyn Ponga did not want to make a short pass to his side as he was collected by two incoming defenders.

It was a missed opportunity for the halfback considering Thomas Cant had broken through a gap in the Titans defence and would have secured his team's first points.

Another Knights blunder

Alyssa Bone

Well, it is not the start Adam O'Brien would have been hoping for.

Newcastle have been pinged again for an off-side call, this time it is Jayden Brailey.

Jayden Campbell has taken the two with ease to push his team ahead 14-0.

We're back

Alyssa Bone

We are back underway with the second half.

Some good news for the Knights, Tyson Frizell has passed his HIA and is back on the field.

HALF TIME: Titans lead 12-0

Alyssa Bone

It has not been the cleanest of starts for either side but the Titans have truly capitalised the best with their rivals errors.

Newcastle had multiple opportunities to strike on the Titans' goal, but seem to be struggling to find a gap to plant the ball into goal.
