Good night!

Damien McCartney

Thanks for joining us for the final two clashes of round seven, where the Raiders held off a spirited Dragons outfit, before the Eels knocked over an injury-ravaged Bulldogs.

Round eight kicks off on Thursday night, when the Rabbitohs take on the Panthers.

We'll see you then!

Eels v Bulldogs RESULTS | Gutherson on Burton's bombs

Clint Gutherson was sensational underneath Matt Burton's bombs.

Despite repeated attempts, the Eels fullback was faultless - even when underneath one ball that went so high it went above the stadium.

"I think I'm having a beer after that," Gutherson told Nine's Brad Fittler after full time.

"You know they are coming. You can't really practice them - that one that went above the stadium, I sort of lost it for a second.

"You've just gotta back yourself, get your hands up early.  They are hard to practice because they go so high, we don't have too many people that can kick like that, lucky that it went my way tonight.

"That is why he is such a good player, he can do everything."

Five tries to one, the Eels have held off the Bulldogs to win 30-4.

Somehow Josh Averillo stayed on the field for the rest of the game, but at what cost we'll never know.

Eels v Bulldogs LIVE | Sivo gets a double

Clint Gutherson put in a beauty of a grubber through to Maika Sivo, who had acres of space down in his corner.

That looked too easy - and up go the chants! 'Sivo, Sivo, Sivo'.

From the touch line, Mitch Moses nails the kick. The Eels are starting to do it easily now. They lead 30-4 with only a few minutes left.

Matt Burton has been penalised for sticking his mitts in around the ruck, and Mitch Moses - who the penalty was committed on - slots the extras through.

The Eels lead 24-4.

Eels v Bulldogs LIVE | Campbell-Gillard adds another for the Eels.

Reagan Campbell-Gillard has a four-pointer to his name now, muscling over the Bulldogs line.

It was a classic forward's try - just muscling himself over the line against three defenders. Great stuff.

The kick is good and the Eels lead 22-4.

Off the following plays, the Bulldogs looked to have scored again, but this time it was Mitch Moses taken out of the play, and another obstruction is called.

Eels v Bulldogs LIVE | Cartwright try turned down

Damien McCartney

Bryce Cartwright looked to have scored really, really easily for the Eels.

But replays show Mahoney was taken out of the play, and Cartwright ran straight through the hole. Pretty black and white obstruction.

The Bulldogs withstanding more pressure though!

That's more likely from the Bulldogs - they've opened their account for the afternoon courtesy of Paul Alamoti.

From dummy half, Reed Mahoney went short side to Matt Burton, who put a perfect grubber through for Alamoti to run on to.

The kick goes across the face through, and the Eels lead remains 12 points.

The we're underway again at CommBank Stadium.

Jake Averillo is still on the park.

Eels v Bulldogs LIVE | Freddy baffled by Avarillo inaction

Brad Fittler has been left baffled by Bulldogs coach Cameron Ciraldo's decision not to bring a clearly lame Jake Averillo off the park.

Speaking at half time for Nine, Emma Lawrence reported Averillo copped a hit to the knee cap making a tackle earlier in the half.

Since then, he has spent a significant amount of time with trainers, and was clearly hampered by the injury as Parramatta scored their second try through Maika Sivo.

Fittler said he didn't know why Ciraldo had left him out there.

"You have Matt Burton who played for Australia in the centres, and Josh Reynolds, a recognised five eighth, on the bench," he said.

"I'm not sure what the coach is waiting for.

"Absolutely [they should make the change] - he can't run. It'll be interesting if he comes out now .

"I'm sure he'll get time to sit down with the coach in a moment and the medical staff, but it just looks like he's a passenger."
