The explosion in popularity of Formula 1 has given the stars of the grid unprecedented exposure and marketability in the wider sporting landscape.
As a result, drivers have become highly marketable athletes and many are making huge profits from endorsements.
Betsmith has come up with a formula that combines followers, likes and engagement, and come up with a figure each driver gets paid every time they post on Instagram.

Nobody outside the most hardcore of motorsport fans would have heard of Isack Hadjar before he made his F1 debut in Melbourne.
Unfortunately for him, he crashed out on the formation lap in the damp conditions.
He has since bounced back and driven to a sensational eighth place in Japan.
He's still making more than $3000 per post on Instagram.

Driving on the sealed access road that ran the whole way around the trap would have been a much smarter option.
Somehow, he still makes nearly $7000 per post on Instagram.
