SAN FRANCISCO: The Socceroos have secured qualification for the round of 32 in the FIFA World Cup after a tense 0-0 draw against Paraguay.
Australia’s result makes it the third time in history finishing second in the group stages after progression at the 2006 and 2022 World Cups.

'Good from the boys': Bos reflects on draw
Jordan Bos was on fire for Australia today, keeping Paraguay on their toes.
He did not have a lot to say at full-time but here were his thoughts.
“I thought it was good from the boys,” Bos said.
“It was a tough game, a bit of a hustle towards the end.
“Obviously we wanted to win, but we got the draw and we’re through to the next round.”

‘Get up early, please’: Coach’s message to Australia
“We are going to Dallas” is echoing around the stadium right now.
Tony Popovic is loving life and celebrating with the fans.
“At the end was the first time I really looked at the clock but I thought please blow the whistle,” Popovic said post-match.
“I think overall we deserved it. We were very good today, wonderful performance.
“These boys are building, they are trying to get fitter and stronger in the eight days gives us a chance to recover properly. Get them more healthy, strong, available and ready for the next challenge.”
Popovic has just one message to Australian fans for the round of 32.
“Get up early, please,” he said.
“Thanks for the support, I’ve heard a few things before the game and I saw all of the signs but home. Trust me, it is greatly appreciated by all of the boys and staff and we cannot thank you enough.”

Who do the Socceroos face next?
We will not know for sure who Australia face next until tomorrow afternoon.
The runner-up of Group G will be our opponent. It is likely going to be Iran or Belgium, but Egypt could fall down from the top of the group into that spot.
New Zealand currently sit at the bottom of Group G and are not the favourites to lift into second place. You never know though.
