Australia third Test player ratings: One man's 'career-best form' leads to near perfect performance
ADELAIDE: Australia once more are the holders of the Ashes urn, and it's been done within 11 days.
Adelaide Oval was the scene of triumph where Australia made it difficult for themselves but won by 82 runs.
Travis Head and Alex Carey were undoubtedly the stars, hitting a century each across both innings'.

The bowling load was shared among the cartel with Pat Cummins returning to take six wickets for the match.

Jake Weatherald - 3
Certainly won't go down as the new opener's greatest Test. Wasn't able to make inroads with the bat and had a shocker when he opted against reviewing in the second innings.
Travis Head - 8.5
Down on his usual output in the first innings but proved he is the long-term opener during the second with a brilliant century on home soil.

Marnus Labuschagne - 6
A fairly poor Test with the bat but receives a boost in ratings for two sensational one-handed catches.
Usman Khawaja - 7
Looked very comfortable at No.4 and helped save Australia from disaster in that first innings.
Cameron Green - 2
Is struggling hard with the bat and has some obvious technical flaws. Time's on his side but there is a very capable all-rounder in Beau Webster on the fridges ready to come in.
Alex Carey - 9.5
The wicketkeeper is in career best form right now. A brilliant ton in the first innings saved Australia and no one in the world is beating his work behind the stumps.

Josh Inglis - 5
Doesn't seem to be suiting the No.7 spot at the moment. He's making starts but can't go on with it and gets stuck on the crease a lot.
Pat Cummins - 7
Likely to be the only time we see him in this series and it was a typical Cummins performance. Took wickets when needed and continued his destruction of Joe Root.
Mitchell Starc - 7
Definitely the favourite for player of the series. Added another four wickets to his tally and hit a handy half-century.
Nathan Lyon - 7
Five wickets to his name and most importantly took the game away from England in the third session on day four. Changed the match with his spell, but appears unlikely to feature in the next two Tests due to a hamstring injury.

Scott Boland - 6.5
Another reliable performance with the ball. He's the man England would love to have, hits his line and length perfectly everytime.
