And we'll call it there for the night, folks.
Thanks for tuning into our live blog of day three of the second Test.
Will the Aussies cap off their carnage with victory tomorrow, or do Ben Stokes and his team have an improbable comeback brewing?
Goodnight.
Mark Waugh's take on day three
Mark Waugh has tipped his baggy green to Australia but kept the door ajar for a miraculous England win.
"That's a great performance from Australia today — dominating with the bat early, keeping England out in the heat of the sun, and then with the ball it's looked like a different game," Waugh said on Fox Cricket at stumps.
"Every ball has been a real test for the England batsmen.
"But they have some hope. The skipper [Ben Stokes] is still there [and] Will Jacks [is] batting pretty well at No.8."
Aussies on the brink of 2-0 with England fading fast
BRISBANE: As Ollie Pope wondered how his bat slipped out of his hands, England's camp watched on with the Ashes slipping away.
Pope's position in the side is under pressure and his scratchy innings did nothing to settle concerns.

Stumps: England in a disastrous position
Day three rounds to a close as the Aussies walk off the field grinning from ear to ear, delighted with the position they've put themselves in at the Gabba.
After irresponsible England batting and terrific Aussie bowling and fielding, the visitors are 6-134 and trailing by 43.
They will need a miracle to avoid going 2-0 down in the series.
Ben Stokes and Will Jacks will both resume on 4 at the start of day four.
Starc grabs another
Mitchell Starc takes his second wicket of the innings, his eighth of the match and 18th of the series.
Wicketkeeper-batter Jamie Smith is his latest victim, gone caught behind for 4.
England, 6-128 and trailing by 49, is in disarray.
The Aussies, it seems, are on the verge of taking a 2-0 lead in the series.
They may even win this Test by an innings.
Boland scalps Brook
And now the dangerous Harry Brook is gone after a brilliant Scott Boland ball and a successful DRS review.
One ball, umpire Sharfuddoula gave Brook out caught behind. Brook reviewed and DRS showed the ball had missed his outside edge by a mile.
Next ball, Sharfuddoula turned down an appeal for caught behind. DRS then sealed Brook's fate, showing the ball had tickled his outside edge.
Brook is gone for 15.
England is 5-123 and trailing by 54.
Root nicks off as Starc strikes
A fourth England wicket falls and it's the massive wicket of Joe Root.
An appeal for caught behind is turned down but the Aussies go upstairs and DRS shows the ball brushed Root's outside edge.
The England batting great departs for 15 and the tourists fall to 4-121 in the 27th over.
England is trailing by 56 in the final session of day three.
"Huge," Brendon Julian says on Fox Cricket.
"That's what the Australians wants — a quick wicket of Joe Root."
Ben Stokes trudges out to join Harry Brook, who's on 14.

Day-three crowd attendance confirmed
A total of 35,574 spectators have packed in for day three, Cricket Australia has confirmed.
The attendance for day one was 37,117, while day two's was 36,573.
Crawley falls!
Zak Crawley departs and Michael Neser is again the man!
The veteran seamer takes another caught and bowled wicket, removing Crawley for 44.
The England opener played superbly for his 44, striking six fours and looking well in control of his game despite his aggressive style.
But Neser has claimed his second scalp and sent Crawley packing.
England is 3-97 and trailing by 80.
Harry Brook walks out to join Joe Root, who's on 5.
Pope gone!
Soft. A very soft dismissal indeed.
Ollie Pope scoops a catch to Michael Neser, who removes him caught and bowled.
Pope's forward movement was minimal and he was driving on the up.
The struggling No.3 departs for 26 from 32 balls.
"Ollie Pope, too loose, reckless from England's No.3, he pays the price," Adam Gilchrist says on Fox Cricket.
"He can't shake his head and say he's unlucky," adds co-commentator Michael Vaughan.
"He's been walking on the tightrope for the last 15 balls. Got away with a couple. That's a great catch from Michael Neser, but let's be honest: it's been coming."
England is 2-90 and trailing by 87.
