Usman Khawaja - 2

Opening the batting, Khawaja's consistently coming up against the best.

He couldn't tame Jasprit Bumrah in the summer and it was the same again with Kagiso Rabada.

Marnus Labuschagne - 4

A new spot for Marnus and once again the runs didn't come.

Had starts in both innings' but couldn't go on with them.

Was incredible in the field though, pulling off a screamer to dismiss Temba Bavuma in the first innings.

A brilliant display of batting in the first innings saved Australia from disaster.

Travis Head - 2

A rare shocker from the counter-attacking superstar.

Finished with scores of 11 and 9.

Couldn't find any magic with the ball either from his two overs in the last innings.

Beau Webster - 7

Has been impressive in the start of his Test career.

Scored an incredibly important 72 in the first innings but couldn't replicate those heroics in the second.

Couldn't find a wicket with his bowling but took a brilliant catch to remove Kagiso Rabada.

Alex Carey - 6

Reliable with the bat in hand across both innings.

Finished with 23 and 43, coming in with Australia in trouble on both occasions.

One blemish with a dropped catch on day one but solid with the gloves nonetheless.

Pat Cummins - 8

Absolutely brilliant with the ball in the first innings. Claimed six wickets to make it 300 for the career.

Wasn't his usual self with the bat and couldn't find the killer blow in the second innings.

Constantly helped Australia out of trouble with bat and ball against India in the summer. However, Australia can't always rely on him when they need it.

Toiled incredibly hard across all four days.

Took five wickets for the match but perhaps his most important contribution was the half-century in the second innings.
