Cricket Australia's 2024-25 men's contract list in pictures: Former David Warner heir among four axed
Bartlett in, Harris brutally axed
Marcus Harris was for a long time considered the heir apparent to David Warner's spot at the top of Australia's Test order.
But the left-hand batter has been axed from the contract list for 2024-25, revealed by Cricket Australia.
Harris played 14 Tests from 2018 to 2022 but failed to make a mark on the top format and has now been relegated to a state player officially.
He joins Ashton Agar, Marcus Stoinis, and Michael Neser as the four players axed from the contracted list.
Xavier Bartlett, Matt Short, Nathan Ellis, and Aaron Hardie are added to the 23-player list.
