'Back to the drawing board': Aussie boxer dealt cruel blow as 'nasty' head clash ends fight
A gruesome cut above super-lightweight boxer Allan Villanueva's left eye resulted in his fight with an Aussie product on Wednesday night's Nowhere to Run card ending in a "no contest".
Spectators in Penrith were left disappointed when the undercard fight between the Philippines' Villanueva and Australia's Jake Wyllie was called off after the third round because a head clash between the two boxers had cut open Villanueva's head.
The fight was set for a maximum of eight rounds but the doctor ended it abruptly.

The fight was deemed a no contest because it didn't reach the half-way mark and the head clash wasn't considered intentional by the referee.
"That's a nasty one," said Stan Sport commentator Andy Raymond as Villanueva received medical attention. "I think we're off here."

Wyllie, a boxer from Warwick in rural Queensland, had strutted out to the ring wearing a Brisbane Broncos jersey.
He admitted in a post-fight interview in the ring that the outcome was "a shame".
"I'll be back ... It's a no-contest, so it's not a loss or anything like that," Wyllie said.
"I'll get back to the drawing board."
