A bit of a weird night early on, but a dominant win for Pedro to close it out.
Pedro completes 'impossible' switch
Tyson Pedro has completed his long-awaited professional boxing debut, producing a dominant win over the previously-undefeated Taimoor Khan.
The former UFC star looked a class above the Pakistani fighter in the main event of Wednesday night's Nowhere To Run event, earning a seventh-round knockout.
Pedro showed great composure throughout and took the opportunities when they presented themselves, before pouring on the punishment to end Khan's night.
"It was always meant to happen," Pedro said.
"This is the smallest crowd I've fought in front of in a long time, but it's the biggest fight of my life. Thank you everyone for f—ing coming."

An emotional night
It's easy to see why Pedro was overcome with emotion for so many reasons.
After retiring from the UFC, many thought he was done in combat sports - but Pedro rolled the dice and started preparing for a boxing career.
His debut was meant to come on two separate occasions against Kris Terzievski last year, but they were called off due to injury and a pay dispute.
In front of his hometown fans in Penrith, the former MMA standout showed he could hang in a boxing ring and the future looks extremely bright.

A dominant win for the former UFC star in his pro boxing debut.

Pedro in complete control
The referee stands in to tell Khan's corner to clean up the water in his corner.
Pedro uses the little breather to his advantage, pushing Khan up against the ropes and connecting with some flush shots to the body.
"He has got him in all sorts of drama," Andy Raymond said on Stan Sport.
Six rounds down and Pedro is in complete control and pushing for a knockout.
'Under real pressure'
Khan's mouthguard comes out a rather opportune time as Pedro goes on the attack.
The referee warns the Pakistani fighter not to spit it out to delay the contest.
"Taimoor Khan is under real pressure here," Barry Michael said on Stan Sport.
Pedro 'setting up' rival
Khan is starting to show some bruising around his eyes as Pedro continues to control the first-half of this bridgerweight bout.
Feels like this one could be a matter of time.
"He is setting him up - he is so relaxed," Barry Michael said on Stan Sport.
Pedro looking 'natural'
A huge straight right from Pedro connects early in the third round and Khan is starting to feel the heat from the Aussie star.
"He is a natural fighter - we knew that from MMA - but he is looking like a very natural boxer as well," Andy Raymond said on Stan Sport.
Pedro backs his opponent up against the ropes and continues to land consistent heavy shots, but Khan is managing to hang in there - albeit barely.
Pedro starts strong
Pedro is looking pretty comfortable in the first round.
"He is an absolute beast," Andy Raymond said on Stan Sport.
A big left hook late in the round stuns Khan for a brief second.
Good flurry from Pedro and the former UFC star is looking the goods.
"He was so impressive this round - he took a few big punches, but he didn't bat an eyelid ... he definitely had the upper-hand," Barry Michael said.
