Brutal injury toll of Origin opener
Queensland and NSW as well as a host of NRL clubs have been left to count the cost of a brutal Origin opener.
Maroons halfback Cooper Cronk was the first star to suffer an injury after breaking his arm in the 10th minute, while skipper Cameron Smith sustained ankle ligament damage.
The Blues were not spared with Brett Morris dislocating his shoulder, brother, Josh, suffering a suspected knee ligament tear and captain Paul Gallen sustaining a neck injury. Anthony Watmough also suffered a suspected torn bicep.
