Good evening!

Lachlan Harper

Thanks for tuning into Wide World of Sports' LIVE coverage of the AFL Trade Period.

We'll be back tomorrow, expect some trades to get over the line then!

Dogs fans could be left 'filthy'

Lachlan Harper

The stand-off between Geelong and the Bulldogs over Bailey Smith continues.

There's been barely any movement and there's a very real chance Smith could go to the draft and the Bulldogs get nothing.

Josh Jenkins believes Dogs fans wouldn't be happy.

"You'd be filthy if you barrack for the Dogs and they get nothing for him. Filthy," he said on AFL Trade Radio.

What can Swans do to overcome the yips?

Lachlan Harper

Josh Jenkins might have the answer.

"I think their immediate ability to get over the final hurdle depends on Logan McDonald's impact," he said on AFL Trade Radio.

"They've played in two grand finals, if he can take the leap next year then maybe he is the player that can help them get over that final hurdle."

Slight shift from the trade scene

Andrew McQualter departing as an assistant at Melbourne for the West Coast head honcho job could lead to Nathan Jones taking up the role, according to 9news Melbourne's Tom Morris.

There's more movement going on

Lachlan Harper

Been a busy day for negotiations.

AFL.com.au's Cal Twomey reporting Carlton are going hard for West Coast's pick 3.

It's all part of a potential deal for Liam Baker to go from Richmond to West Coast.

De Koning trade is no chance

Lachlan Harper

After a caller suggested Sam De Koning could be part of a trade for Geelong.

Damian Barrett has shut it down.

"They are not entertaining any knock on the door for Sam De Koning...they have a big future together and it just won't be happening," he said on AFL Trade Radio.

We have some movement

Could Rory Atkins be about to play a Showdown, but not for the Crows this time?

9news Melbourne's Tom Morris is reporting he could head from the Suns to Port as part of a mega trade deal involving various picks with Collingwood.

Atkins previously played for Adelaide.

Dan Houston's move to the Pies could be on!

Exiled star could replace Daniher

Liam O'Loughlin

Delisted forward Sam Day could find himself at the Lions next year after being let go by Gold Coast at the end of the season.

The 32-year-old is a potential candidate to replace the retiring Joe Daniher at Brisbane in the wake of their recent premiership success.

"He's being considered by the Lions," Josh Gabelich said on Trade Exchange.

"Nothing concrete yet, and they might make a move essentially as a delisted free agent because he was delisted by the Suns back in September.

"He clearly wants to go on and play a bit more footy. He's one I think to keep an eye on going forward."

Day has slotted 117 goals in 155 games in the top grade.

'Interest' grows in 'talented' free agent

Liam O'Loughlin

Player manager Liam Pickering has revealed there is "some interest" in delisted free agent Curtis Taylor after his exit from North Melbourne.

The 24-year-old played more than 70 games for the Kangaroos during a six-year stint, but is now available to move to a rival AFL club.

Speaking on AFL Trade Radio, Pickering said the "talented" star has plenty of good football ahead of him and would be a handy pick-up.

"There's some interest in Curtis ... it wouldn't be as a trade," he said.

"He's a delisted free agent now so he can go on a list at any time.

"He's a talented player. I've got a lot of belief in Curtis as a footballer. He's worked his backside off … he's a kid who I reckon at 24 will be ready to hit his best football."

Weitering's reveal after Saints offer

Liam O'Loughlin

Carlton star Jacob Weitering has revealed people would have been surprised by the offer put forward by St Kilda earlier this year.

Fresh off agreeing to a long-term contract extension with the Blues, the 26-year-old admitted the Saints were definitely vying for his services.

"The St Kilda one during the year would have turned a few heads, but for me I tend to be less fussed ... I just wanted to get it done," he told Trade Radio.

"I've done it on previous deals and made sure that it was a deal that both parties were happy with. [I am] very happy to be part of the club for another seven years.

"I know if I prepare the right way and play the right way I'll return the faith to the club and the fans."
