Premiership-winning Lion Charlie Cameron cops backlash after 'tragic' grand final snub

Brisbane star Charlie Cameron has attracted some unwanted attention following the Lions' 60-point grand final victory over the Swans at the MCG on Saturday.
The two-time All-Australian forward has copped intense criticism online for his treatment of an AusKicker of the Year nominee in the aftermath of the drought-breaking win.
As is tradition, each year the 23 prize-winning AusKickers attend the AFL grand final and present a premiership medal to one player from the winning team.

As Cameron made his way onto the dais during the Lions' presentation, he snubbed the young girl's offer of a handshake before turning his back on her as he pumped his arms in celebration.
One X user wrote: "Forget Oscar McInerney, the real tragedy is the girl who went to shake Charlie Cameron's hand and got snubbed".
Another added: "Charlie Cameron fresh aired his kid for the handshake".
Making matters worse, the Lions had a member of staff tasked with reminding the players to engage with the children before passing on their cap.
"The guy handing out the hats to the Lions' players was BOG. Sadly Charlie Cameron let him down," a viewer posted to X.
Cameron adds his name to the list of players involved in awkward interactions with AusKickers including Geelong's Tom Stewart in 2022 and Collingwood's Beau McReery last year.
The entertaining goal-scorer finished the decider with a goal and 13 disposals.
