Wife tricks mistress into confirming husband's affair

A woman says her husband's mistress admitted to their affair after the wronged wife became sick of months of lies and tricked her into the confession.

Writing anonymously for The Telegraph in the UK, the woman says she was scrolling through her husband's phone in 2018 when she noticed he'd called his assistant during a boys' night out.

"I was mindlessly scrolling through his phone while he read my new work contract on my mobile," she wrote. "My heart began to pound: he'd called Joanne while on a boys' night out."

She asked him why he'd called his assistant and he said it was due to a work problem. They began arguing and he ended up confessing he had feelings for his assistant, but he didn't admit to the affair.

It was then that his wife decided to call the assistant, tricking her into confirming the affair.

She told her the cheating husband had confessed.

It was then the assistant confessed to a kiss and sex "but just once... at the office".

"Adrenaline coursed through my body and I felt barely able to stand," she wrote.

The wife confronted her husband with the confirmation, and he moved out.

"[The husband] moved in with his brother while I tried to adjust but it was hard; my weight dropped and I had daily panic attacks," she said. "I found it almost impossible to accept that he'd so carelessly ripped apart the future I'd taken for granted."

The assistant is also married and despite the wife telling the assistant's husband, she says they managed to stay together.

"We tried to be amicable for Daisy's sake and a couple of months later, he moved into the spare room to share childcare so that I could work," she wrote.

She says their relationship is now "in limbo".

"I don't want to split because I'd hate to be without Daisy for half the week, but I'm now stuck," she says.
