Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet start school in the UK: reports

Prince Harry and Meghan’s two children have begun school in the UK, it’s understood.

Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet started the new school year this week, according to People magazine, just weeks after moving to England from California.

The young royals join their older cousins - Prince William and Kate’s three kids - who also went back to school this week for the start of the new UK school year.

Eldest cousin Prince George, 13, was dropped off for his first day of high school at Eton College, with media there to capture the future king’s milestone day.

However, the return for his younger siblings - Princess Charlotte, 11, and Prince Louis, 8 - to Lambrook School down the road was a more subdued affair and without a press pack.

Similarly, Archie, 7, and Lilibet, 5, enjoyed their first day with little fanfare, with Harry and Meghan not issuing any official photos or even confirmation of which school they’re attending.

The Sussexes moved to the UK last month, leaving their Montecito home as their US base to take residence in the Cotswolds for “an extended stay”.

Prince William and Kate back return to official duties with subtle nod to Prince Harry

Harry and Meghan have kept a low profile since their return but a source tells the US magazine they are currently focusing on their kids and helping them adjust to their new lives.

“[Focusing on their kids] has been, and remains, their focus,” the unnamed source said.

“Everything else will fall into place when the time is right.”

They hinted the couple are not in hiding of any kind but simply getting themselves set up and preparing for big projects to come.

“There is a lot to do,” the insider said.

“They have just moved halfway across the world, and it’s been really busy getting the kids settled. Their focus has been on that, and will remain on that, for the time being.

“They are happy to be back.”

The comments on the Sussexes’ new lives comes just days after King Charles issued a letter reiterating the Duke and Duchess of Sussex remain “private citizens” and will not be working royals, six years after giving up their roles as senior working royals for a life in the US.

As a result, Uganda made a bombshell announcement that they were pulling out of next year’s Invictus Games on Wednesday.

It came just weeks after they were announced as the 26th nation - and first East Africa country - to join the competition for injured servicemen and women.

“We shall not participate in anything that does not have His Majesty’s approval,” General Muhoozi Kainerugaba announced on social media.

A Sussex insider squarely blamed the King’s letter for the announcement, after the military chief said he’d chosen to show the Commonwealth country’s allegiance to the monarch.

“Intended or unintended, this is clearly a consequence of the Lord Chamberlain’s guidance regarding the Duke and Duchess of Sussex that was rushed out without consultation on Monday,” they told ITV News on Thursday.

“Sadly, the only people who will suffer are the Invictus Games competitors.”

The Lord Chamberlain’s letter, sent on behalf of the King, to government departments, military officials and Lord Lieutenants, emphasised any charity endeavours are the couple’s own.

“The charitable work of the Duke and Duchess is a personal matter for them both and undertaken in their private capacity,” the letter stated.

However, a Buckingham Palace source told multiple UK media outlets after Uganda’s announcement that the King supports all organisations and efforts for wounded service personnel.
