'I married a man with the same surname as my first name'

A teacher who fell in love and married a colleague who had the same surname as her first name has shared her unique love story.

US woman Lilly Lille posted a TikTok video about her husband, who she met while he was a PE teacher at the school she worked at.

Lilly explained she was hesitant to date her now-husband because his last name was Lille, pronounced the exact same way as her first name.

"When you said you wouldn't go on a date with he PE teacher whose last name was the same as your first," Lilly captioned her short video.

"But now you've been married five years, own a house, have a dog and have gone through three rounds of IVF together."

The woman captioned her video, which attracted over 500,000 views, with: "Life is pretty crazy".

Lilly added: "Disclaimer: "We were/are coworkers. Don't get it twisted!"

When commenters asked if Lilly kept her maiden name because of the similarity, she confirmed she took her husband's surname and is now Lilly Lille.

Lilly's followers flocked to the comment section to express their shock, with some recounting very similar stories from their own marriages.

"I am Christy Crist. We dated in HS and reconnected as adults," one woman shared.

"I'm Nicol Nicholls after marrying my husband haha," another woman said.

One added: "My husband adopted my son in 2019 and now my son's name is Hunter Hunter."
