A quirky children's entertainer was unceremoniously banned from Tinder after sharing photos of herself dressed as her clown alter ego.

Irish woman Jessica, 25, was left confused when her account disappeared after months of speaking with men about her job as a clown.

Jessica shared six photos of herself in her elaborate clown costume, including a fake nose, hat and makeup, and documented her conversations with potential dates on TikTok.

"I heard you were 'just looking for fun?' Well pal, the party has arrived!!" Jessica's Tinder biography read.

"Where can I set down this birthday cake and chocolate milk?"

Many of the men Jessica spoke with were good-natured about her clown alias, Kazoo, while others seemed a little baffled.

"Never thought I'd meet a clown on Tinder!" one of her matches wrote.

However, after being flooded with messages on the app, Jessica claimed her account was mysteriously banned due to "activity that violates our Terms of Use".

"I've seen girls with more make-up than this on. Even if you are you, you can still get banned," Jessica said in a video.

"It was going well, people were enjoying the videos, people were having a laugh on Tinder about it and then they banned my account. How am I going to find a clown man now?"

Jessica even tried to appeal the decision to ban her account, but was unsuccessful.

"Everyone tag Tinder," she asked her TikTok. "This is not fair!"

Many of Jessica's outraged followers declared Tinder was being unfair, with one even labelling it "anti-clown discrimination".

After several months of waiting with bated breath, Jessica's account was finally restored in mid-February.

A Tinder spokesperson told The Mirror Jessica was banned from the app due to her account being used for "promotional purposes".

"Our community guidelines state that we may remove accounts used for promotional purposes; however, we want our platform to be a place where our members can share what they're passionate about with matches," the statement read.
