Teen charged with murder of young couple

Prosecutors in the US have charged a teenage boy over the murder and disappearance of a young couple in early March.
Connor Kerner, 17, from Indiana, has been accused of killing Molley Lanham, 19, and Thomas Grill, 18.
He allegedly confessed to a friend, saying, "I killed someone and I killed an innocent girl."

According to court papers filed by the Porter County Prosecutor, Kerner confessed to shooting Grill when Grill tried to rob him during a drug deal.
"Grill fell to the ground and was begging for his life," it has been alleged. "Kerner advised that he panicked due to being out of bullets in the gun. Kerner then beat him with a pipe wrench until he died."

It is then alleged that Kerner showed Lanham her boyfriend's body in a garage, and told her he would kill her if she told anyone, shooting her in the head as she turned to leave the garage.
The 'friend' has been described as a confidential informant.

He testified that Kerner said he loaded the bodies into their car and drove it to another location and set it on fire.
The bodies have since been recovered.
The confidential informant told authorities he didn't believe the confession until he saw social media reports that the couple were missing.
