Prince Harry touches down in the UK amid family drama
Prince Harry has touched down in the UK for the start of a four-day trip to mark the “One Year to Go” countdown to the 2027 Invictus Games taking place in Birmingham.
The Duke of Sussex has travelled to London solo, reportedly leaving his family behind at a secret European location where they have been holidaying.

It is not known if Meghan Markle and their children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet will join him in London, after Harry’s request for publicly funded security was rejected.
It is also not known where Harry will stay during his time in the city, after he missed an apparent deadline on an offer from King Charles for his son to stay at Buckingham Palace.

It is understood the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were considering Buckingham Palace as potential accommodation during their trip, as well as offers from friends and family.
Harry is scheduled to attend a series of charity engagements and events promoting the 2027 Invictus Games, beginning with a visit to Chatham House where he will meet with policymakers, experts and members of the Invictus community.
The Duchess was due to carry out her first engagement in the capital since before Megxit in March 2020 at a London hospital with Harry. This too is now in doubt.
Following his commitments in London, the Duke of Sussex is then scheduled to travel to Birmingham later in the week.
There, he will visit a local children’s hospital for WellChild and mark the one-year countdown to Birmingham hosting the 2027 Invictus Games.

Meghan is still expected to attend the Invictus event at Birmingham’s NEC at the end of the week.
It is also understood that Harry and Meghan are still planning to take their children to Althorp, in Northants, for their visit to the final resting place of his late mother, Princess Diana.

Plans to visit with his father King Charles are also now in doubt, as are plans for the King to reunite with his grandchildren for the first time since 2022 during Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
It is not known if members of the British royal family will join Harry for Invictus events.
The first Invictus Games launched in London in 2014. For its inaugural event Harry was supported by his family including King Charles and Queen Camilla, Prince William, and Princess Eugenie.
The Invictus Games is international sporting event for wounded, injured, and sick military service personnel and veterans, founded by Prince Harry who served 10 years with the British Armed Forces.

There has been seven events Invictus Games events thus far, including the 2017 Invictus Games in Toronto, Canada, where the Duke and Duchess of Sussex made their first public appearance together.
Meghan was living in Canada at the time filming her hit TV series Suits.
