It looks like there's another blow coming for Andrew Mountbatten Windsor.

King Charles has indicated that he wants the former Duke of York stripped of his last honorary military rank, according to the UK Defence Secretary.

The 65-year-old was made a vice admiral on his 55th birthday in 2015 and retained the rank even after giving up his other military positions in 2022.

John Healey has spoken out about the last remaining title that Andrew has, revealing that there is a process in the works.

"We've seen Andrew surrender the military positions that he's had and we're looking now at the one remaining position he has, which is the honorary vice admiral position and, we've got a process underway for that," Healey told Sky's Sunday Morning with Trevor Phillips.

He also appeared on BBC's Sunday with Laura Kuenssberg and hinted that the king has already made up his mind.

"This is a move that's right, it's a move the King has indicated we should take and we're working on that at the moment," Healey explained.

Healey added King Charles had "indicated that's what he wishes".

The former Duke of York spent 22 years in the Royal Navy and served as a helicopter pilot during the Falklands War.

Andrew also commanded HMS Cottesmore, a mine countermeasures vessel.

But in the wake of the fallout over his ties to disgraced paedophile Jeffrey Epstein and the allegations made by Virginia Giuffre, he was stripped of his remaining titles and privileges last week.

A statement from Buckingham Palace released on Friday, confirmed that Andrew was going to be stripped of his "prince" title and was moving out of the Royal Lodge

The process to officially remove the 65-year-old's remaining royal titles is now underway and he will be known as Andrew Mountbatten Windsor.

"His Majesty has today initiated a formal process to remove the Style, Titles and Honours of Prince Andrew," read the statement.

"Prince Andrew will now be known as Andrew Mountbatten Windsor."
