How Meghan reacted to Beyonce and Jay-Z's BRIT Awards tribute to her
Beyonce and Jay-Z may not have been on the celebrity guest list for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's Royal Wedding but that didn't stop them paying tribute to The Duchess of Sussex.
The moment came as the music royalty accepted the Best International Group gong via video link at the BRIT Awards in February, standing in front of a framed painting of Meghan.
The nod from Queen Bey to the Duchess was much talked about at the time, but no-one ever knew what Meghan herself thought about it—until now.
Make-up artist and close friend, Daniel Martin, revealed in the US documentary Meghan and Harry Plus One, that he texted her the image of the couple accepting the trophy in front of the Mona Lisa-esq painting.
"I sent her a pic," he told Gayle King.

"I think it was a screen grab of the two of them in front of the portrait. I think all I wrote was, 'Girl'.
He said the royal responded with a single emoji.
"She wrote me back like the big eye emoji," he said.

While there are lots of theories as to which of the "big eye" emojis the Duchess responded with, we're going to guess it's the shocked, eye-popping one.
Says it all, really.

At the time, Beyonce and Jay-Z revealed they recorded their acceptance speech in front of the image of Meghan to celebrate Black History Month.
"In honour of Black History Month, we bow down to one of our Melanated Monas," Beyonce captioned the photo on Instagram.
"Congrats on your pregnancy! We wish you so much joy."
