Meghan and Harry will spend a big anniversary apart

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle had a big anniversary coming up in a matter of days.

But they won't be able to celebrate it together.

Prince Harry, the Queen's Commonwealth Youth Leader, will visit Zambia at the request of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office on the day of their engagement announcement first anniversary.

The two-day trip on November 26 and 27, will see the father-to-be return to the UK and his pregnant wife at Kensington Palace the day of their anniversary.

To be fair - while we know Harry and Meghan got engaged while cooking a roast chicken together in Nottingham Cottage, the date of their actual engagement remains a mystery.

So, presumably the pair did in fact spent the first anniversary of their engagement together and taking stock of just what a big year it's been for them both.

After announcing their upcoming nuptials on November 27, 2017, the couple got straight to work and began touring the country on a number of official engagements, designed to "introduce" the American actress to the British public.

Meghan celebrated her first Christmas with the Queen, spending the holidays in Sandringham and attending church with the entire Royal Family on Christmas morning.

Into the New Year, the couple were busy planning their big May Royal Wedding at St George's Chapel in Windsor Castle, which was the wedding of the year and watched by millions right across the globe.

Soon after their nuptials, the pair headed Down Under for their first overseas Royal Tour together as a married couple, spending 16 days touring Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and Tonga.

And as if that weren't a big enough deal, they just casually announced their pregnancy at the same time.

The newly minted Duke and Duchess of Sussex will welcome their first child in the UK Spring next year, around March or April.

So, yeah, we'd say it's been quite a busy year for these two lovebirds!
