Barack and Michelle Obama's birthday tributes to eldest daughter Malia
Michelle Obama has shared a special birthday tribute to eldest daughter Malia who celebrated her 26th birthday on July 4.
The proud mum wrote: "Happy birthday, Malia! No matter how old you get, you'll always be my little pea and I'll always be proud of you. You deserve the world and more."
Michelle, 60, shared her sentiments with a throwback photo showing Malia as a toddler smiling into the camera while holding a toy rabbit.

Dad Barack, 62, posted his own tribute to Malia alongside a throwback photo showing the pair walking down street holding hands, with the former US president carrying a blue ball.
"Happy birthday, Malia. One of the greatest joys of my life is watching you grow into the extraordinary woman you've become today – and the fact that you're still willing to hold your dad's hand in public!" he wrote.

Malia and younger sister Sasha, 23, have largely stayed out of the spotlight since the end of their father's presidency in 2017.
Malia's most recent public appearance was on January 18 when she attended the premiere of the short film The Heart at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival.
Malia works as a filmmaker and TV writer.

"That is a question I do not need to answer, because Michelle drilled into them so early that you would be crazy to go into politics," he responded.
"It'll never happen."
