Melania Trump's stylist has spoken about the First Lady's usually impeccable style choices, including the signature looks she is most famous for and the much-publicised missteps.

He has also revealed the one outfit you'll never see her wear publicly.

Designer and stylist Hervé Pierre said the 54-year-old will never be photographed wearing "workout gear".

"She is always impeccably dressed, even when not in public: a pair of skinny pants and a crisp white shirt is usually her signature look," Hervé told HELLO! in an exclusive interview.

"No workout gear; I guess she only wears that in the gym."

He also made it clear that the First Lady has no plans to deviate from her well-established signature styles during her husband's second term in office.

"She likes tailored suits and sharp lines. She will not start wearing ruffles and floral prints just because she is starting a new chapter," Hervé said.

"She gravitates towards strong tailoring, sleek looks and perfect cuts with no fuss."

Hervé pointed to Melania's official White House portrait in which the First Lady is wearing a tailored black blazer with sharp lapels, a crisp white shirt and pencil skirt.

Melania attracted mixed reactions to her choice outfit for husband Donald Trumps' inauguration on January 20.

She opted for a navy wool coat and pencil skirt hand-sewn by American designer Adam Lippes, but one accessory in particular made her stand out – her wide-brimmed hat.

Melania arrived in a matching dark hat by luxury New York City milliner, Eric Javits, meaning her outfit was entirely made by American designers.

The size of the hat's brim also appeared to make it difficult for the president to kiss his wife.

Trump leaned in for a peck on the cheek but was forced into an air kiss instead as he couldn't reach her face.

A previous fashion misstep occurred in 2018, when Melania made a controversial fashion choice while visiting children who had been separated from their families at the US-Mexico border.

She appeared in a khaki jacket which read on the back: "I really don't care, do U?"

Stephanie Winston Wolkoff, a former senior adviser to First Lady Melania and author of Melania and Me, said the jacket was aimed at "liberals".

"And they deserve it, you understand? Everybody's like, 'Oh my god, this is the worst, this is the worst'. I mean, come on. They are crazy, okay?" Melania reportedly said via a recording provided by Winston to CNN.

Melania later explained to ABC News America"It's obvious I didn't wear the jacket for the children. I wore the jacket to go on the plane and off the plane."

She continued: "It was for the people and for the left-wing media who are criticising me.

"And I want to show them that I don't care. You could criticise. Whatever you want to say, you can say. But it will not stop me to do what I feel is right."
