Jellycat dupes found in unlikely store for fraction of the price

As Christmas nears, the adorable yet expensive UK toy brand Jellycat has launched its festive range.

In Australia, genuine Jellycats are hard to come by, with David Jones and Meyer some of the only places you can get a real one without fear of being scammed.

Despite the Christmas toys making adorable festive decor, their steep price point makes it hard to justify purchasing them for such a short period of time.

The Amuseables Tree Cookie and the Amuseables Star Cookie will set you back $50 each at Myer.

Meanwhile, David Jones has a number of Christmas Jellycats available, including the Festive Folly Christmas Pudding for $48.

They're also selling the Festive Folly Christmas Tree for $42.99.

With prices at that height, parents looking to decorate on a budget likely won't be able to participate in the Jellycat decor trend.

Jellycat is a London-based brand famous for its Amuseables line of toys that turn plants, food and objects into adorable stuffed toys.

However, there is an adorable and affordable alternative available at the one place you'd least expect.

TikTok creator Sasha (@Sashsays) discovered Coles has a selection of stuffed toys available, and they look very similar to their more expensive alternatives.

"Guys, Coles has fake Jellycats," she says in the video posted to the platform.

"Look, how cute this is! They're not expensive at all."

Coles stores are indeed selling the toys, both online and in-store.

The Coles Plush Pudding is $12, significantly cheaper than the Jellycat version.

Meanwhile, the Coles Gingerbread Plushes are $9 each with three different options to pick from.

They also have two Christmas tree plushes and an adorable wreath plush for $12 each.

You could buy the full collection for $75 and decorate the entire house.

While it's nearly impossible to find other stuffed toys that look similar to Jellycats in stores, Amazon does sell a few knock-offs.

Of course, they are also available on dirt-cheap websites like Ali Express or Temu, but shopping on those sites comes with some risks.
