Ivanka Trump shares hopes for father's presidency and behind-the-scenes photos

Ivanka Trump has shared behind-the-scenes photos from Donald Trump's inauguration as well as her hopes for her father's second term in office.

Ivanka, 43, attended events for the historic moment in Washington DC with husband Jared Kushner and their three children Arabella, 13, Joseph, 10, and Theodore, eight.

"Congratulations to my father on his inauguration as the 47th President of the United States!" she wrote on Instagram.

"I'm proud of his determination, resilience and commitment to our country," Ivanka continued.

"This moment is both historic and humbling. My prayer is for strength, wisdom, and compassion to guide his every decision," she said.

"May he lead with understanding and an open heart, striving to bring unity where there is division and peace where there is conflict."

She ended her post by saying: "Let's support one another as Americans, and may God bless and guide my father and us all."

Ivanka shared seven photos from inauguration day including watching her father be sworn into office, walking in the capitol with her husband and son, chatting to her dad and walking with her family in Washington DC.

She also posted a photo of her with her siblings Donald Jr, Eric and Tiffany.

Next we see Ivanka with her youngest son Theodore. And finally, another photo with Theodore seated next to his mother in which he is indulging in some antics.

He has rolled up a piece of paper and has positioned it over his mouth like a trumpet as his mother smiles.

Ivanka Trump announced she wouldn't be joining her father's administrative team for his second term, however she has been front and centre at key events during Donald Trumps' presidential campaign and for inauguration events including two balls and the ceremony itself.

Ivanka stunned with her choice of gowns. At a dinner the night before the inauguration, Ivanka wore a custom Oscar de la Renta dress embroidered with crystals and pearls along with diamond and platinum pear-shaped drop earrings from Leviev.

For the Liberty Inaugural Ball following the inauguration, she wore a stunning dress is a replica of a Givenchy design, originally created for Audrey Hepburn in her iconic role in the 1954 movie Sabrina.

The black-and-white strapless gown featured a full skirt and fitted bodice with intricate black lace detailing.
