Popular influencer found dead inside her apartment aged 26

A popular influencer from Indonesia has died aged 26.

Lula Lahfah was found dead inside her apartment in Dharmawangsa, a suburb in South Jakarta yesterday.

Metro Jaya Police's Head of Public Relations, Kombes Budi Hermanto, confirmed to CNN Indonesia that Lahfah was the woman found deceased.

"The victim was found by security officers at around 6.44pm (local time) on Friday," he told the outlet.

"Currently, South Jakarta Police Criminal Investigation Unit officers are still processing the crime scene (TKP) to investigate the incident and are coordinating with the family."

According to the local media, Lahfah struggled with several health issues, and she spent New Year's Eve in the hospital due to "physical discomfort".

She posted a TikTok video from her hospital room on New Year's Eve, showing her eating 12 grapes and making 12 wishes for the year ahead.

Lahfah boasted a combined 3.3 million followers across TikTok and Instagram, with her last post being just two days ago.

She was known for sharing lifestyle and beauty content online, as well as daily vlogs about her life in Jakarta.

The content creator first gained notoriety online by posting singing covers to SoundCloud, which led to her releasing her own music.

Indonesian boy band Weird Genius, which includes Lahfah's boyfriend Reza Oktovian, cancelled their show just a few hours before the news of her death broke.

The statement posted to Instagram said one of their members had heard some "unfortunate news" and was "not in a condition to be on stage."

"The situation is beyond our control, and we apologise for the inconvenience... we ask for everyone's understanding and forgiveness."

The investigation is underway, with the cause of death not yet confirmed.
