The new Tim Tam flavour hitting supermarket shelves that's already dividing Australia
Australia's favourite chocolate biscuit has been given a makeover.
Arnott's Tim Tim is about to release a new flavour, and if early reports are to be believed, this will be the most successful new flavour release since Tim Tam Chewy Caramel in 2003.
The new flavour is Tim Tam Choc Mint and one Arnott's insider told nine.com.au, "It's genuinely my favourite Tim Tam launch in a long time".

Research by the company has found 78 per cent of Aussies love mint chocolate, and 90 per cent of households have at least one mint lover in residence.
I feel like I am the perfect person to review these new Tim Tams as a lifelong Mint Slice lover.
The biscuits have played an important role in my life since I was a child, when I was first offered one at a primary school friend's house one afternoon.

I had never tasted anything so delicious in my life, but when his mum offered me a second one, for some reason I said no – even though I really, really wanted it.
As soon as I had my own money, I always made sure to have a packet of Mint Slice biscuits nearby, and during my first pregnancy I ate an entire packet before I'd even driven out of the shopping centre car park.
So its only natural that every time Tim Tam has attempted a mint version of its iconic biscuit, I have compared them to my beloved Mint Slice.
All have fallen short, until now, and most have been discontinued – except for Tim Tam Deluxe Dark Choc Mint, which is still on sale, but I've never been a fan of these.

Arnott's also released a Tim Tam collaboration with Gelato Messina Choc Mint in 2017 for a limited time. I didn't like these either.
Tim Tam Choc Mint is as close to a Mint Slice as I have ever tasted. Arnott's has finally nailed the white mint filling to almost match the filling in a Mint Slice, which is key to its deliciousness.
And these use milk chocolate, which is also important – combined with the mint filling they can taste a little too rich.
There are some important differences, however, which are needed to distinguish the Tim Tam Choc Mint from the Mint Slice.
Tim Tam Choc Mint uses a crumblier biscuit, made famous by the Tim Tam range, and Tim Tam is, of course, rectangle, whereas a Mint Slice is perfectly round.
Despite its crumblier texture, Tim Tam Choc Mint does hold up when dipped into a cup of tea.
This is important, because one of my rituals is to dip chocolate mint biscuits and then drink the tea, which by then has a lovely hint of mint.
Tim Tam Choc Mint is launching exclusively at Woolworths on Tim Tam Day, February 19, for $6 per pack.

Not that I would ever pay full price for a packet of Tim Tams, or any other biscuit. I will be waiting for the sales price, which I am hoping will be $3, and then I'll be stocking up.
My local Woolworths currently has its Tim Tam range on sale at two for $10, so $5 per pack.
I'd prefer them to be half price. Fingers and toes crossed.

The debate over where to store Tim Tam biscuits has raged in Australia for years, with some insisting they need to be kept in the fridge, others swearing by the pantry, and some saying the best place to store them is in the freezer.
Woolworths entered this debate in early 2025 when they temporarily placed some of their Tim Tam range in the chilled section of their supermarkets.
This could be weather dependent, with some Aussies reporting keeping theirs in the fridge during the warmer months, and in the pantry during winter.
Tim Tam has discontinued several flavours over the years, some by design as they were released for a limited time only.

These included Arnott's Adriano Zumbo Collection in 2014 which included Salted Caramel, Choc Brownie, Raspberry White Choc, and Red Velvet.
In 2017 the Gelato Messina series began, including Choc Mint, Salted Caramel & Vanilla, Coconut & Lychee, and Black Forest.
Then there was Arnott's Tim Tam Crafted Collection, which has most recently included Murray River Salted Caramel and Gisborne Orange & Dark Choc.
