Fans waited decades for this British snack to hit Aussie shelves - now it's disappeared within a day
A cult British confectionery released in Coles stores this week has sold out in multiple locations, leaving fans bereft.
Percy Pigs appeared in Coles supermarkets on November 19, Marks & Spencer Food's first official release of the sought-after confectionary in Australia.
But Coles clearly wasn't prepared for just how determined customers were to get their hands on them.

This has reportedly been the most successful confectionary launch in Coles' history, breaking sales records with 47,500 of Percy Pigs and Colin the Caterpillar products being purchased in a single day on launch day, November 19.
This left fans disappointed and left to scour multiple locations to try and find them.
Coles in North Sydney in NSW was completely sold out, with only empty baskets left where unique displays had been set up.
There were a couple of packets of Percy Pig Phizzy Pigtails left at Coles in Castle Hill, just under an hour away from North Sydney. Other locations report unprecedented demand for the iconic range.

"The launch of Marks & Spencer Food has been an absolute hit down under," a Coles spokesperson confirmed to nine.com.au.
"We've had an overwhelming response from our customers eager to get their hands on iconic British favourites Percy Pig and Colin the Caterpillar.
"The buzz in store and online has been incredible – Australians and Brits alike are embracing these beloved treats, which bring a touch of the UK to Aussie shelves.
"Our team is working hard to bring more Percy and Colin treats to our shelves, so customers can expect to see more stock arriving in the coming days."

The spokesperson also confirmed the M&S Food range being sold in Coles stores, including Percy Pigs and Colin the Caterpillar, are part of their permanent product range, and are not seasonal or limited-edition.
Coles is selling the full Percy Pigs range including Percy Pig Fruit Gums, Reversy Percy, Piglets and Phizzy Pigtails.
Colin the Caterpillar confectionary hasn't suffered the same plight as Percy Pig products, with plenty of these little fellas available for purchase.
Colin the Caterpillar products available in Coles supermarkets include Cherry Gums, Fruit Sours, Fruit Gums, and Party Time.

M&S confirmed Percy Pigs, Colin the Caterpillar, and a number of other food products would be sold in Coles supermarkets as part of a collaboration with Coles to sell M&S Food products.
They shared the exciting news to their official Instagram page on Friday morning, sparking widespread excitement from expats who have been begging for the brand overseas.
"Omg finally! I have been waiting for the day M&S food is in Australia. I miss it so much!" one fan commented.
"I have been rationing Percy Pigs since my return in July. Excellent news," a third wrote, while a fourth said: "Yasssss you've made the year of every British expat with this news."
Previously, Percy Pigs and other M&S food items were only available in Australia via online retailers like Britsuperstore or British Corner Shop, or Amazon and eBay, although the latter are not official channels.

Coles is also now selling M& Scottish Shortbread varieties and Luxury Gold Tea Bags, as well as limited-edition seasonal ranges including the viral sensation, The Original Very Moreish Munch Tin, which is set to sell over a million tins in the UK in the lead up to Christmas.
