McDonald's adds cult collectibles Squishmallows to Happy Meal range
McDonald's Australia has announced the launched a new range of Happy Meals that include what will no doubt be a cult favourite collectible.
From May 29, McDonald's Happy Meals come with a Squishmallow!
That's sure to help kids forgive their parents choosing apple slices instead of fries with their nuggets, burgers or wraps.
These cute, squishy, cuddly toys come in 14 characters in the McDonald's range.

McDonald's Squishmallows range will also include the debut of a new character, Halley, the Intergalactic Axolotl.
Also joining the Squishmallows Squad is Avery, the green and brown mallard duck and Theotto, the Cthulhu monster with dragon wings, which will be available in Australia and New Zealand only.

Also featuring in the range, Rossi, the purple cheetah with pink spots and Charles, the winking green pickle with a moustache.
"We're all about connecting our fans to culture, and these squishable plushies are all the rage right now so we're bringing the search for Squishmallows to Australia," Amanda Nakad, Marketing Director of Menu and Brand for McDonald's Australia said.
"This limited-time Happy Meal brings a taste of the viral toy sensation to Macca's, with the first McDonald's Squishmallows Squad.
"Whether you're joining the hunt to collect them all or just looking for a dose of happiness, there's a Squishmallow for every kind of fan with this new Happy Meal."

Happy Meals come with a choice of three or six Chicken McNuggets, a hamburger, cheeseburger or Grilled Chicken Snack Wrap with a side of either apple slices or small fries, and a small bottle of water or juice.
Happy Meals cost $5.75 to $10.10 depending on what is ordered.

Squishmallows made their debut in 2017 and surged in popularity in 2022 and 2023.
The Toy Association honoured Squishmallows with a total of 10 Toy of the Year Awards since their launch.
Squishmallows have enjoyed several high-profile collaborations, their latest with McDonald's Australia, one with Pokémon, and a partnership with Crocs shoes in the form of Jibbitz charms.
