Macca's most iconic burger undergoes radical makeover
The McDonald’s Quarter Pounder has undergone a radical makeover to mark its 50th anniversary.
Macca’s has unveiled a permanent new Quarter Pounder range featuring the return of two fan-favourites and two new options alongside the original iconic burger. The full range drops today.

Quarter Pounder Deluxe
Back by popular demand, the Quarter Pounder Deluxe is described as a “fresh spin on a fan favourite”.

“A quarter pound of 100 per cent Aussie beef topped with 100 per cent Aussie melted cheese, juicy tomato, crisp lettuce, pickles and onions. Then finished with tangy mustard, ketchup and creamy McChicken sauce. All served on a sesame seed bun.”
Quarter Pounder BBQ Bacon & Crispy Onions
Another Quarter Pounder burger back by popular demand, this one includes “rasher bacon, crispy onions, pickles, melted cheese and smoky BBQ sauce – served on a sesame seed bun”.

Double Quarter Pounder Deluxe
A brand new Quarter Pounder, this one includes two beef patties with “melted cheese, crisp lettuce, juicy tomato, pickles and onions.
“Then finished with mustard, ketchup and creamy McChicken sauce. All served on a sesame seed bun.”
Double Quarter Pounder BBQ Bacon & Crispy Onions
Another new addition to the Quarter Pounder line up, this one includes two beef patties with “bacon, crispy onions, pickles, melted cheese and rich BBQ sauce – served on a sesame seed bun. ”
These returning fan-favourites and new burgers will all join the original Quarter Pounder made up of a single beef patty with “two slices of melted cheese, freshly chopped onion, pickle slices, sweet ketchup, and tangy mustard, all served on a soft, toasted sesame seed bun.”

While there isn’t a “triple” Quarter Pounder on the menu, a McDonald’s Australia spokesperson told nine.com.au fast food lovers could customise their Double Quarter Pounder by adding an extra beef pattie to create their own triple stack.
When asked how much each of the new burgers would cost, nine.com.au was told: “As individual businesses, Macca’s prices are set at a restaurant level.

The Quarter Pounder range is one of McDonald’s most popular burger ranges, selling 56 million burgers across the country over the past 12 months. That’s over 100 Quarter Pounders sold every minute across Australia.
The Quarter Pounder range accounts for more than a quarter (27.6 per cent) of all beef burger sales at Macca’s and is the second-most popular burger range behind the cheeseburger.

The original Quarter Pounder has sold 38 million burgers over the past 12 months alone, followed by the Double Quarter Pounder at 17 million.
New South Wales buys the most Quarter Pounders, followed by Victoria and Queensland tied in second place.

This week Macca’s also launched its biggest range of new McCafe drinks in more than 30 years.
Following a successful trial in Victoria and Queensland, ten new beverages will roll out nationwide from July 15, introducing all-new Refreshers, Crafted Sodas and Energisers alongside a new range of Iced & Cold Coffees.

Their iced and cold coffee range include a Brown Sugar Shaken Espresso with Oat Milk, a Iced Golden Caramel Latte, an Iced Velvet Mocha with Cold Foam, and a Choc Coconut Frappe.
New Refreshers include a Strawberry Watermelon Refresher, and a Popping Mango Refresher.
Crafted Sodas being added to the range are Berry Blast & Sprite and Popping Green Apple & Sprite. There are also new Energiser drinks being added to the range.
